葛尾村のガラスをつなぐ、キャンドルホルダーづくり
葛尾村の元建具屋に眠っていた昭和ガラスをはんだ付けでつなぎ、三角形のキャンドルホルダーをつくります。今では貴重となった昭和ガラスに触れ、学ぶことができるワークショップです。

MIHOYA Taisuke / MIHOYA Miyu（Fushimiya Glass Shop）
1914年(大正三年)創業したガラス店の4代目として、建築業に携わる一方で、大量生産・大量廃棄の現実を目の当たりにし、「今あるものを生かす」をコンセプトに昭和のガラスを使った作品製作をはじめる。解体される建物から昭和のガラスを引き取るところから作品の製作までを一貫して担うことで、ガラスを単なる素材ではなく、人の営みと共にあったもの、人の思いをつなぐものとして伝えていくことを目指す。
古いガラスを第二の人生へとつなぎ、ガラスに込められた思い出を通して人をつなぐことで、廃棄物を減らすと共に、人の営みや思いを守っていきたいという思いで日々製作に取り組む。
As the fourth generation of a glass shop established in 1914 (Taisho 3), while engaging in the construction industry, I witnessed the reality of mass production and mass disposal. This led me to start creating works using Showa glass with the concept of ‘making use of what is already there.’ By consistently managing the entire process from retrieving Showa glass from demolished buildings to crafting the works, I aim to convey glass not just as a material, but as something that has been part of human activities and connects human thoughts.I strive to link old glass to a second life, connecting people through the memories embedded in glass, with a desire to reduce waste while preserving human activities and emotions. I work on my creations every day with this mindset.
