葛尾村について
葛尾村（かつらおむら）は、福島県の東側に位置し双葉郡に属している小さな村です。古くは馬産や木炭生産などが、現在は農業や畜産が主要な産業となっています。2011年の原子力災害から全村避難を余儀なくされ、現在は帰村者と震災後の転入者が村内で暮らしています。2025年1月時点で、人口1,216人（居住人口457人）です。
Katsurao Village is a small village located in the eastern part of Fukushima Prefecture, in the Futaba District. In the past, it thrived in industries such as horse breeding and charcoal production, but currently, agriculture and livestock farming are the main industries. Due to the nuclear disaster in 2011, the entire village was forced to evacuate. As of January 2025, the total population is 1,216 people, with 457 residents living in the village, including returnees and newcomers, while the rest reside outside the village.

Katsurao Collectiveについて
アート・コレクティブとは、活動をともにするアーティストたちのコミュニティのことをいいます。Katsurao Collectiveは、葛尾村において村内外の多様な人々が創造性という価値でつながる共同体です。また、そのようなコレクティブを目指すプロジェクト名でもあります。
Katsurao Collective is a community of artists in Katsurao Village that brings together diverse individuals, both from within and outside the village, connected by the value of creativity. It’s also the project name aspiring to foster such collectives.
アーティスト移住定住促進事業について
本事業では、葛尾村への短期移住者という形でアーティスト・クリエイターを地域へ招聘し、彼らの活動をサポートしていくことで、新しい観点から地域の魅力を発掘しています。このことを通じて、創造力を基点にした地域コミュニティの創出とその継続の方法を探っています。
In the Katsurao Village Artist Residency and Settlement Promotion Project, we invite artists and creators to temporarily reside in Katsurao Village, supporting their activities with the aim of discovering the local charm from new perspectives. The initiative seeks to explore ways of creating and sustaining a community rooted in creativity, using artistic endeavors as a focal point.
