The community space for entrepreneurs, "Impact HUB Tokyo," is excited to host the Katsurao Collective, an *artist-in-residence program in Katsurao Village, Fukushima Prefecture. Katsurao Village is a small community in Futaba District on the eastern side of Fukushima Prefecture, with a population of less than 500 residents. In 2011, the entire village was forced to evacuate due to the nuclear disaster. The Katsurao AIR program invites a diverse group of artists from Japan and abroad to temporarily relocate to Katsurao Village. By living in Katsurao Village, these artists immerse themselves in the daily lives of the locals, drawing inspiration from the changing natural and social environments, and the fading memories of the nuclear disaster. Their work, created in close proximity to the residents, fosters meaningful interactions among people from various backgrounds, both within and outside the village. The creations born from life in Katsurao Village will be showcased at Impact HUB Tokyo. How will your encounter with Katsurao Village inspire you? *Artist-in-residence programs allow artists to stay and work in a location away from their usual place of residence. The acronym "AIR" stands for "Artist In Residence."
